I had a hankering for Kimchi, so I went to the local Korean Supermarket, they didn’t have the ones I wanted (Nong Shim Kimchi Ramen) but they did have a couple of pot noodles of different kinds of Kimchi noodles. So I grabbed one of each, and some more of the Potato Noodle Soup I reviewed a while ago, oh boy, so good.
These ones are prepared much the same way as all other ‘pot’ style noodles, peel the lid halfway back, pour in the flavouring sachets (there are two with this one, a soup base, and a strange spicy biscuity wafer) the dried vegetables are already dispersed in the pot, then fill up to the marked line, fold the lid back down and leave for a couple of minutes, then stir and eat.
The noodles aren’t quite up to the normal standard I’ve come to expect from Nong Shim they’re a bit thinner than most of their other ramen, the soup is spicy but not as flavourful as their ‘normal’ kimchi ramen, but still very good, and extremely convenient too.
Rating: Noodles 3.5/5, soup 3.5/5. Overall 7/10.
