After a hot day mowing lawns and sanding down walls in preparation for painting, I’ve earned a nice cold beer.
And I’ve got one: Mac’s Gold.
It’s a lovely bright golden yellow colour, with a large pure white head on the pour. Pouring from, of course, the readily recognisible squat brown Mac’s bottle (335ml, 4%ABV).
It’s refreshing, only a little bitter, and very smooth. Highly drinkable. Very refreshing.
It’s not a big beer though, not much in the way of soul… It lacks a certain something, a certain je ne sais quoi.
Perhaps it’s the lack of aroma. Maybe I’m overdosed on petrol fumes and 2-stroke oil… And covered with grass clippings.
Good nonetheless.
