Wanted to do nothing, didn’t get my wish.
Instead we got up late then caught a ride all the way up to Seminyak, and gradually walked back down to Legian for lunch at Made’s Warung, Claire had spring rolls, I had some beef & pork satays – which I shared with a friendly little cat.
Then we wandered through the broiling heat and checked out a lot of shops, pretty good fun, we’ve got a really good double-team haggling technique, though we don’t buy a lot of stuff. We did get some nice presents, though as we don’t have much space, or a very generous luggage weight allowance, we didn’t get many things, or for many people.
A lot of walking, in fact we walked all the way back to the hotel, stopping for drinks very often, including a can of Pocari Sweat, which I’m sure everyone has heard of, it isn’t very nice, sort of vague dilute citrus flavour, and a touch of pepperiness, I only drank half before chucking it in a bin.
Really missing dairy.
For dinner tonight we’re heading backup to Legian, and one of the places we stopped at for a drink today: Nero Cafe.
Later…
Okay, the trip up to Nero’s in Legian was great, the food itself was pretty good, but the whole package of music, service, ambience, and really nice cocktails (frozen redbull & vodka, frozen bacardi and orange, and others), made it a really wonderful experience. Almost certainly one of the best nights out I’ve had in years.
Our waitress Dewi, was wonderful, and the music was so good Claire bought copies of the CDs.
