Samyang – Samyang Ramen

Country: Korea
Flavour: "Spicy." Two sachets: soup base (red pepper, garlic, kimchi, radish); dried vegetables (carrot, leak, cabbage).
Size: 120g
From: Kim’s Korean Supermarket
Price: $0.80

The noodles are thick and quite chewey, which is good.  Perhaps a little floury. They take up the flavour of the soup fairly well.

Soup is topped with specklets of golden oil, probably palm oil, which is a bit of a shame. Flavour is gently spicey, and while not strongly flavoured, it has hints of the kimchi from the base, and isn really quite tasty and savoury.

Rating: Noodles 2.5/5, soup 3.5/5. Overall 6/10.
