Snowboard Trip.

Okay, here I am, just finished our first days snowboarding, and I’m taking advantage of Pukenui Lodge’s free ‘net access…

Taken a few photos, but was mostly too busy falling over and hurt myself to bother…

Right now I’m looking out the window at a spectacular sunset over the mountain – well, the spectacular colours are over the mountain, even if the sunset itself isn’t… Happy.

Listening to one of the staff guys lay all the tables ready for dinner.

Sore chapped lips. Blah blah. Please forgive the fractured nature of this update – I’m using PuTTY, and the interface isn’t really conducive to good editing, or whatever.

Bet you wish you were here, but you’re not, sucker.

Maybe next time, yes?

Ready to rock!

Yay, fun!.. I’ve just booked our accomodation for the Ski / Snowboard weekend down in National Park, looks like we’ve picked a good weekend too, with the forecasts now saying YUM! (hope that holds)

Shame the queues will no doubt be appalling – apparently a 20 minute wait isn’t unknown, it’s years since I last went skiing, so I don’t remember how long we had to wait back then, I remember it sometimes being quite boring, though.

Of course, queues will probably be the last thing on my mind, as I have no doubt that I’m going to suffer some horrible injury after careening out of control. Woohoo! 🙂

Staying at the same place we stayed at last time we were down that way – Pukenui Lodge. Here’s a picture or two from last time.

Special votes for special people.

Voted today, which is perhaps a little earlier than you might expect, but there’s a chance we’ll be off at Mt Ruapehu skiing on Saturday, so we cast a special vote.

I’m still a bit of a leftie, had even considered giving the Greens my party vote, but their incessant beating of the GE dead-horse is terribly boring, there are so many other things they could be talking about.

Anyway, there you go. Party vote: Labour; Electorate: Judith Tizard.

George takes a shot for the team.

Up at the crack of 10am to take George to the vet, last of his parvo shots, first of his lepto shots… And a bothering with a thermometer, poor boy.

Afterwards we treated him to another run-around in Gribblehurst Park, he likes to jump up on children and lick their faces, this causes them some concern, and us even more – it’s terrifying to consider the possibility of him nipping some kids nose, I don’t ever want to have to deal with that.

Some PHP work for a new client later in the afternoon, then Francois dropped by, we’re probably gonna go skiing / snowboarding in a week or so, and needed to think about that a bit… Which turned into a gigantically fat belly after popping in to a franchise Indian food place (which was actually quite good).

Oh, also got a new CF card for the camera (ostensibly for the ski trip), can now take nearly a thousand photos on the go, nice one. 🙂
